Entree is Served: ACT is an introductory ACT workshop for mental health professionals (psychologists, counsellors, social workers). It will cover the theoretical background and research in ACT, a brief introduction to the components of ACT, and experiential exercises that can be used on the self and with clients. A case study will wrap up the session to see how it all comes together.
Real life cases and examples will be used throughout the session as the focus is on understanding the concepts + application.
It is called Entree is Served as it is meant to be a taster of ACT, especially for those who are new to ACT and not sure if this is an approach they would want to go further with. It is designed such that even if you do like ACT after attending this workshop, you would be equipped to learn ACT on your own through self-study. Being an ACT therapist does not require certification.
