The Therapist
Farah is a registered psychologist practicing in Perth, Australia at Perth Psychologists located in the suburb of Cockburn.

As a therapist, you will find Farah warm, friendly, and authentic. You might find that she will share your joys and will also share tears with you. Farah is willing to hold your emotions and stories, and from there journey with you to a place you find fulfilling. She is skilled at working with clients in the short-term (within 6 sessions) who may be looking for symptom relief or solutions to acute problems and is also able to work longer-term with those who are looking to address obstacles that get in the way of a fulfilled life.

Farah uses Contextual Behavioural Science-informed approaches, mainly Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in the therapy room. This is where behaviours are not seen as causes or problematic in itself, but rather it exists in a context, and our work together is about changing and influencing the contexts to have a more workable outcome that is consistent with the kind of life you want to have. This approach deemphasises diagnostic labels which can at times function as barriers to living a full life.

If you would like to make an appointment to see Farah for individual or couples therapy, please contact Perth Psychologists.

The Trainer
As a trainer, Farah is energetic, passionate, and makes learning fun. Her objective with her training sessions are for participants to have fun, but at the same time learn something new and feel challenged. As Farah is a visual learner, she often teaches visually using diagrams and flowcharts.

It may not seem like it, but Farah is an introvert, which makes for a concise trainer where every word said is purposeful. If you are looking for a trainer who can give lectures, is full of stories, or all about theory – Farah may not be for you. Farah’s training style is highly interactive – engages participants with questions, thrives on Q&A sessions, tells stories only as examples relevant to demonstrating processes, and links theory to practice. Farah’s workshops is heavy on experiential and practical components to enhance participants’ learning.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy Training
Farah has attended ACT training at the introductory, advanced, and masterclass level and specialised topics within ACT. She is an avid ACBS conference attendee at chapter (ANZ) and international level. Her ACT learning is continuous with her seeking supervision from peer-reviewed ACT trainers. She is currently serving as President-Elect of the ANZ ACBS Chapter.

Farah has delivered ACT training for mental health professionals at the introductory and advanced level. She is available to conduct workshops in this area.

Farah also delivers ACT-informed workshops for the public and corporate sector. Content is in simple and accessible language and is based entirely on the psychological flexibility model.

If you would like to work with Farah, you will find her efficient, meticulous, and may have out-of-the-box ideas. To discuss training opportunities, contact her at farah@forepsych.com.au
